Bold and grand. Delicate and sharp. Deep emotions that spread richly. A masterpiece overflowing with Japanese sentiment, featuring the first recording of Fumio Itabashi's famous song "Watarase."
T takeo Moriyama, a jazz drummer who has captivated the free jazz world with the Yosuke Yamashita Trio since the late 1960s and has collaborated with KYOTO JAZZ SEXTET in recent years, is loved by many fans, both old and new. This album, recorded in 1980 with his close friend Fumio Itabashi in a quartet, is famous for including the masterpiece "Watarase," which is overflowing with Japanese sentiment, for the first time. In addition, all songs are worth listening to, such as the dynamic "Exchange" and the beautiful but melancholic "Goodbye," and you can enjoy a large-scale performance where stillness and movement are organically intertwined, making it one of the best albums in Japanese jazz history.
